Healthy Life Challenge - Day 1
Good Morning and Welcome! Thank you for joining me on the first day of the rest of my life! Today, April 10, 2013, I am embarking on a new journey, the challenge for a healthy life. This blog journal is one of many steps I am making as I completely overhaul my lifestyle in the areas of nutrition, physical fitness, as well as emotional health. Emotional health is increasingly more important in our modern world and culture today. Stress is an ever increasing competitor within our modern lifestyle and culture today. The following are a few statistics according to the U.S. Stress and Stress Impact Statistics: Percent of people who regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress 77 %. Percent who say stress has a negative impact on their personal and professional life 48 %. Annual costs to employers in stress related health care and missed work. $300 Billion
There are several more steps I will be taking in this Healthy Life Challenge. I am going to start preparing for the Adult Fitness Test. I am also studying the Japanese diet and eating habits. I do not eat certain types of foods, such as pork, lobster, raw fish, and mushrooms. However, the other ingredients within this diet, I would like to integrate into my daily meal plan. I also have heard about a diet incorporating red lentil soup as a daily meal staple for weight loss. I am looking into the possibility of going on a soup diet as a way to detox. Cabbage is great for soup, and this is one of the soups I might incorporate as I plan on a detox. I realize that sometimes, I am a "stress eater". I eat as a way to relax or for entertainment. Through daily journaling and stress management guidelines, I will work on changing this bad habit. I believe that when we take time to enjoy life, go on walks, and start new hobbies, life can automatically become less stressful and more enjoyable.
As I look at some of the steps I have taken today, to simply research these ideas, I am positively expectant at the future results and the liftime of health for not only myself, but also for my family. The more that I challenge myself to live a healthy life, the stronger I am, the more I am free from health ailments, and the more helpful and useful I am to my family, friends, and those around me. Thank you for your time and for joining me on Day 1 of this Healthy Life Challenge!
